Our evening Open Gym sessions are intended for you to relax, mingle with athletes and colleagues, play some ping pong, challenge friends in VR activities, work on some balance training, and more! We want to provide you the opportunity to build community with your colleagues, vendors, and ISVA organizers all while having some lighthearted fun!

We have a great variety of companies in our exhibit hall this year-- including a lot of new brands who are excited to meet you. Come by before lectures begin to visit, play some ping pong, sample their products, and make new connections!

Athlete’s Panel

The Ledger - Main Stage 240 S Main St, Bentonville, United States

This panel features Maggie Steffens, 3x Olympic Gold Medalist, 2x MVP, Team USA Captain, and 5x World Champion in Women’s Water Polo; Qadry Ismail, “The Missile”, NFL Super Bowl Champion Wide-Receiver played for the Baltimore Ravens and others; and Anneke Beerten, 3x world champion mountain bike racer who calls Bentonville home where she continues to ride and coach. These three professional athletes will share their stories of how sports vision has impacted their lives– both professional in their sport and in their daily lives. The session will be moderated by Dr. Paul Harris and will include Q&A along with a “Meet the Athletes” session immediately following for registered attendees to get photographs, autographs, and shake hands with panelists!

Lecture: Contrast Sensitivity and Visual Acuity Testing in Sports Vision

This lecture will cover factors influencing visual acuity and contrast sensitivity, how visual acuity and contrast sensitivity relate to sports performance, and the best ways to measure visual acuity and contrast sensitivity.

Sports Vision Fair

Our interactive exhibit hall will be open to the Bentonville health and wellness community including youth sports teams, athletic organizations, etc. to come and learn more about sports vision and the innovative products and devices used in enhancing sports performance. This session will include demonstrations of athlete vision screenings and allow attendees to try activities in real time, test frame and lens technologies on the Pickleball court, and more. Attendance for this event will be by invitation only. General conference attendees are welcome to come by and participate as well.

Lecture: Visual Performance Evaluation for Athletes

Dr. Erickson will provide detailed descriptions, rationale and research results to support assessment of specific vision performance skills in athletes.
