Frederick R. Edmunds, O.D., F.A.A.O. established and runs the XTREMESIGHT Performance Clinic, a sports vision only practice devoted to visual performance enhancement of athletes. In addition to his work with professional and collegiate teams, Dr. Edmunds provides custom programs for elite level youth and high school athletes. He also offers sports vision practice management services to his fellow eye care professionals.
Previously, Dr. Edmunds worked for Bausch & Lomb and was awarded ‘Sports Vision Optometrist of the Year” for his efforts to promote sports vision worldwide through the Olympic Vision Center. Additionally, he was involved in the development of a novel sport-tinted contact lens, NIKE MAXSIGHT, designed to enhance the visual performance of athletes. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and currently a member of the American Optometric Association’s Sports & Performance Vision Committee. He lectures internationally and has published numerous articles on sports vision and contact lenses.
